Worship Related Organizations Boys and girls assist the priests at weekend and weekday Masses. This is a wonderful way to learn about the Catholic Church and enhance their faith. The Altar Society takes care of anything used to conduct the Liturgy. Linens, Vestments, Albs, Candles. One crew changes the Vigil candles daily. The linens are particularly important because each Mass needs fresh linens to keep the purification of the Chalice. They also help with the Flowers at times and also plan the Christmas decorations. Each group works out its own work schedule. There are many opportunities for both vocalists and instrumentalist to add their talents to our worship. Responsible for setting the altar for all Masses. Greet the parishioners at each set of glass entry doors; assist in seating; two HMs help get people out of pews for Eucharistic Ministers and Priests
Extraordinary Ministers assist the priests and deacons in distributing Holy Communion as needed for Masses on weekdays and/or weekends. Some Extraordinary Ministers take Communion to homebound parishioners. Minimum requirements for becoming an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist are that you be a Catholic in good standing and a registered parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul parish. Training is required following which Extraordinary Ministers are commissioned by the Bishop.
